Professor Reimer

Here you see Professor Reimer in front of Al Akhawayn University (AUI)! All the roofs in Ifrane look like this for easy snow removal in the winter and because the former king liked them so much, he made a law that said all buildings in Ifrane must have these roofs!

As you can see, the campus is very modern and beautiful. "Al Akhawayn" means "Two Brothers-" those two being the former king, Hassan II, and the king of Saudi Arabia. Though not truly brothers, the two of them with their combined resources built the university in 1995.

When we first arrived in early August, Gerald worked for a few weeks preparing for classes. AUI provides a shuttle that runs several times a day from our apartment to the campus making it very convenient to go back and forth.

August 28 he began teaching accounting and business classes. He has one undergraduate class and two graduate classes which have never been taught before. With all the preparation and advising 35 students, he is enjoying himself but is extremely busy.
