Two Years

Two years ago today Dad crossed the finish line of this life and went on to be with his precious Savior. I just read a book called "Captivating" and among many other things, the role of fathers in their daughter's life is emphasized as being crucial. A father's affirmation and example of being a godly man simply cannot be underestimated as it is so much these days.
Once I was in a meeting where all the women present grew up with abusive fathers. Up until that point, I hadn't realized what an amazing gift a good father is. I am sure that having a wonderful father led me to marry a wonderful man. And now there are two little girls in this house who are madly in love with their daddy and think simply everything he does (including how he closes doors) is hilarious. I am so thankful they also have a great father - and so the cycle continues.
Back in May, a friend of our family told my brother Brad that she had dreamt about Dad. "I thought you were dead!" she stammered to him.
"Oh no!" he replied. "I'm more alive than ever!"
