Summer 2008

We are back in Morocco after 8 weeks, visiting 7 states/provinces, sleeping in 20 different beds, borrowing/renting 6 vehicles, growing taller (girls), growing wider (Gerald and I), visiting doctors, taking care of business, going to two family reunions, one wedding, one conference, speaking several times, catching up with many family members and friends, eating large amounts of pork products (Gerald), and never staying in one place more than 6 nights...

Though the summer was tiring, we had a wonderful and precious time. In the next few weeks I'll try to catch you up a bit through our 400 pictures - just kidding! Don't worry, I'll be selective.

We are glad to be back in Morocco. It really did feel like coming home for us, though we felt that way several times in the US too! I guess more than one location can be called home. But for now, we are convined this is the place for us and we feel great peace and joy in being back.

Katrina, my ballerina

Let's back waaay up to the very end of June - Katrina's ballet performance! Here she is with a few other ballerinas getting ready for the show. Extra-curricular classes are hit-and-miss here and we just happened to have a ballet teacher in town the last two years, so Katrina took classes in the dance room at the university. Her teacher is gone now, so no more ballet. We'll see what's next!
Ouch! My toe-touching-head days are long gone...

Several times we had to wait for the belly-dancing class ahead of us to finish before ballet class started and the girls would stare with open mouths at the college students moving who-knows-how -- what a contrast with the little ballet class right afterwards!

Katrina and Claire (in purple) invited their class, so her teacher and almost all her classmates came. What a wiggly, silly, supportive group of little people! Afterwards they all danced and danced on the floor - fun!

We're back!

Just to let everyone know that we are back in Morocco 35 hours after leaving Topeka - yeah! More later - hopefully within the next few days.
